Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and Director of the SinaLab for Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence at both Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Birzeit University. He was a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University at Buffalo, a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Cyprus, and a research scientist at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Jarrar has received several prestigious awards, including the Shoman Arab Researchers Award in Technology, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for the Arabic Language, and the Google Faculty Research Award, among others. He has published more than 120 research articles spanning Large Language Models, Social Computing, Ontology Engineering, and Knowledge Graphs.

He holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where he subsequently served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. He also held the position of Senior Lecturer at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia. He is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA), United Kingdom, recognizing his contributions to higher education teaching and academic leadership. His expertise spans artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, and technology-enhanced education. His academic career encompasses funded research, doctoral and master’s supervision, academic program development, and institutional quality assurance, with a particular focus on advancing innovation and responsible AI integration in higher education.
